Dear Colleagues;
It was great to see many of you at the recent ICAK meeting in Chicago. For those of you who don’t belong to ICAK, it is a great organization with so many facets of AK covered in presentations etc. I have been the program chair for 5 years and I encourage everyone to join and participate (see* for more info).

SUPREME PRODUCTS AND CYTOKINES, IMMUNE FUNCTION, ETC.
I was reminded when hearing Dr. Yanuck’s talk on the immune system at ICAK how many herbs besides being anti-microbial are also immune modulators. He is a partial list from the literature. Many herbs have not been investigated yet so we may update at times.
Some herbs may act as adaptogens as needed by the individual, for instance Golden thread is listed to both increase and decrease Th1 as it may act adaptogenically in this instance (or there just may be conflicting research)
To increase Th1: Reishi (Ganoderma), Melia, Ashwagandha, Golden thread (berberine, coptis), Schisandra (Baicalin), Olive leaf, Endo
To decrease Th1: Olive leaf, Golden thread, Dan shen, Rosemary, Scutellaria
To increase Th2: Reishi Olive leaf, Scutellaria
To decrease Th2: Woad (Isatis), Scutellaria, Ashwaghanda, Morinda
To increase IL1: Rosemary, Golden thread, Schisandra, Reishi
To increase IL2: Ashwagandha, Melia, Reishi, Olive leaf
To decrease IL2: Schisandra
To increase IL3: Woad, Scutellaria, Olive leaf
To decrease IL4: Woad, Ashwagandha, Scutellaria
To increase IL4: BG Body guard, Olive leaf, Scutellaria
To decrease IL5: Woad, Schisandra, Scutellaria
To increase IL6: Reishi
To decrease IL 6 and 8: Camu, Illicium, Dan shen, Endo, Morinda Schisandra, Rosemary, Scutellaria, Woad, Olive leaf

NEW TEST KIT (AK TEST KITS 970-201-7406)
There is a new biofilm test kit out. It has 16 vials. We have found it very valuable as have other doctors that were testing it before it was released. There is a mixed vial. Two tips: When muscle testing for biofilms we have found that using the infraspinatus muscle as an indicator muscle will yield more positive results. Second, Oral Supreme (Supreme Nutrition products 1-800-922-1744) will very often block the dental plaque biofilm vials in the kit and sometimes the other biofilm vials.
You can get the whole kit from AK test kits (970-201-7406) or just the mixed vial from Supreme Nutrition (800-922-1744). The nixed vial would replace the current biofilm vial in the protocol kit. The mixed vial does get some false negatives so I would if you look for biofilms frequently encourage you to get the full kit.
INFORMAL TALK ABOUT 2 SUPREME PRODUCTS YOU SHOULD CONSIDER USING MORE
1) Body Guard Supreme- this was the 2nd product developed in the Supreme line. Some of the beauty of AK is that you can see clinical correlations way before “science” catches up. In this case EMF research was just getting big and I wanted to see if there was a substance that helped the body cope with exposure. This was back when we lived in WV. I had 100’s of herbs on hand and basically we exposed patients to high EMFs and if they weakened with AK, blindly tested the herbs to see which block the muscle inhibition and kept data. I was expecting kudzu might work since it grew up electric lines all over the South. It turned out the herb chancre piedra (Phyllanthus niruri) blocked the finding in almost every case (sometimes P5P worked). We started giving it to patients and many who had a hard time with fluorescent lights, computers etc reported very positive findings. Compared to when BodyGuard first came out- now everyone has cell phones, laptops, routers in their house, wifi everywhere, etc. I’d consider BodyGuard on your patients and it is a great liver support too and used traditionally for stones http://supremenutritionproducts.com/BodyguardSupreme/index.html
2) Glypho-X- Glyphosate is everywhere. It is in your food (even if your food is organic there could be glyphosate residue in your soil or some could settle in from neighbors, etc). If you have a gardener there is a good chance they use it to kill weeds etc. Glypho-x also helps with all other pesticides too. Before seeing if it strengthens a weak indicator muscle do one of these or both a) expose the patient to the glyphosate vial as well as the Pesticide 1,2 and 3 mixed vials (Protocol kit AK Test Kits 970-201-7406) and/or b) massage the liver deeply for 10 seconds. Then use a weak indicator muscle (if one associated with the liver is weak, that is best) and see if Glypho-X strengthens http://supremenutritionproducts.com/GlyphoXSupreme/index.html
JOIN THE ICAK
If you are not already a member or are a former member consider joining. We had about 200 attend the Chicago with close to 40 presenters. Great info, great schmoozing. The board now has about 50% of it members being under 40 and even a higher % of younger physicians on the committees as we want to transition to the next generation. Student membership is only $25 and first year docs $185. Most people get a few patients referred each year which should more than make up your fees plus you get the Collected Research papers for the year plus access to the ones of the past 40 or so years plus more benefits to come. Where else can you see many of the top AK docs in the same place at the same time sharing the latest information, working on each other etc. *Join ICAK
MATERIALS AVAILABLE FROM DR. MICHAEL LEBOWITZ
1. DVD or Vimeo: Treating the Complex Patient 2018: This seminar, approximately 4 1/2 hours long will teach the physician a simple to apply, effective protocol to treat patients with chronic fatigue, allergies, chemical sensitivities, intestinal dysbiosis, (fungal, bacterial, parasitic, spirochete, and viral infections), food sensitivities, food toxin intolerance, hypercoagulation problems, toxic metal issues, endocrine dysfunction, nutritional imbalances, chronic pain and subluxations, fibromyalgia, etc. The seminar is suited for both the novice and the advanced practitioners in our work and is much updated from our last one. A complete set of advanced notes accompanies the DVD. Seminar DVD or VIMEO
2. Personal Seminars with Dr. Lebowitz: Dr. Lebowitz teaches seminars to one or two doctors at a time at his offices in Hawaii and Gig Harbor, WA. This is probably the best way to learn our protocols with a personalized, hands on experience. Cost is $400 per physician. For more info or to schedule call us at 970-623-9565. Noah Lebowitz DC is also available to teach the class.
3. Test Kits for Dr. Lebowitz protocol – Call Cynthia at AK Test Kits 970 201-7406 or see our website http://www.michaellebowitzdc.com for more details. These kits will greatly simplify and speed up your testing making you more efficient and accurate in patient assessment. These are “diagnostic kits”. Supplement kits are ordered directly from Supreme Nutrition 1-800-922-1744.
4. Body Restoration An Owners Manual – An updated and expanded version of my first book Body Mechanics published almost 30 years ago. Part 1 has a chapter on each organ/gland. Each chapter teaches basic anatomy and physiology, causes and symptoms of dysfunction, as well as simple treatments your patient can do at home to complement your treatment. Part 2 explains the role of dysbiosis, food intolerances, toxic metals, nutritional deficiencies and neurotransmitter imbalances in health. The book is a great review for the doctor, but better yet it is a great tool to recommend to your patient. It will give them a better understanding of how their body works and the causes of health and disease, as well as the rationale of why you treat the way you do. It is very pro chiropractic. It is available for $1.99 on kindle at https://www.amazon.com/Body-Restoration-Owners-Manual-ebook/dp/B0050653C4/
5. Body Restoration Cookbook – This companion volume to the above book was written by Cynthia Lebowitz and is now available free online (donations accepted). A wonderful tool for your patients as it contains almost 100 recipes- most without gluten, dairy, nightshades, etc. Body Restoration Cookbook
6. God’s Preventative Medicine- my latest book. It explains how the Levitical Priests dealt with fungal dysbiosis both preventatively and treatment wise as well as the reasons behind some of the other health laws of the Torah. It is a short easy to understand book and fascinating for the student of health and the Bible God’s Preventative Medicine
